Bettina Kaiser

In her work, Bettina explores the unique and peculiar elements of the world around her – often collecting and altering everyday and not-so-everyday objects, using techniques and mediums that suit the subject or site of the moment.

As the Polar Arts Programme’s resident artist in 2007, Bettina accompanied three expedition cruises to the Antarctic peninsula. Sketches and paintings created on the ice led to a series of oil-on-board icescapes, responses to the forms and spaces of the extraordinary Antarctic environment.

In 2005 Bettina won the Fisher's Ghost Contemporary Art Award. She was Artist in Residence at Yvonne and Arthur Boyd's Bundanon property in 2004. Bettina’s work has been exhibited in Antarctica, Australia, Germany, France, Poland and Russia. Since arriving in Australia she has sold numerous artworks to private collectors.

Bettina completed a Masters Degree in Visual Communications in Germany and an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts in Australia.
